Rembrandt 2 Hour Whitening Kit Reviews

This kit is a well know whitening kit that has been around for a while now. You might have seen it in supermarkets such as Walmart as well as drugs stores such as Walgreens & CVS. In this reviews I’ll break down the Pros & the Cons of this product so that way you can make an informed decision as to whether or not this product is for you.

Pros

Moldable Mouth Trays

One great thing about this kit is that it comes with moldable mouth trays, these trays basically form into the shape of your teeth. All you have to do is dip the mouth trays in warm water for about 5 seconds and insert them into your mouth and let them conform to the shape of your teeth. This is somewhat similar to the mouth trays you’d receive if you went to your dentist.

Removes Surface Stains

What makes this product seprate from others is the fact that each kit effects your teeth in different ways. Some kits are great for removing deep stains and others are great for removing surface stains. This bleaching kit happens to be one of those products that is great for removing surface level stains. With that being said, you’ll most likely only see a 1 to 2 shade difference and nothing really dramatic.

Creates Natural Smile

Now like I mentioned in the last point, this product really shines at removing surface level stains and because if this it leaves you with a more natural smile. There are some products that will leave you with really white teeth to the point where it looks almost unrealistic/unnatural. You see, human teeth are supposed to have a very subtle amount of yellowing (you can barely see it with the naked eye) and it’s not really natural for us to have super white teeth. So basically according to other Rembrandt 2 hour whitening kit reviews what Rembrandt does is give you a natural smile, so that yes, you can tell that you got your teeth whitened but not to the point where it looks like you’re wearing veneers. This might be considered a good thing or a bad thing, it all depends on preference.

Reusable Trays

Another great thing about the Rembrandt deeply white 2 hour whitening kit is that you can use the same mouth trays over and over again. Meaning once you’ve created them you can store them away and use them again, also this means that you don’t have to buy another product. All you have to do is purchase replacement gels and reuse your mouth trays.

Cheaper Than Other Brands

As far as price is concerned this happens to be pretty affordable, you can purchase the entire kit for as little as $20. This is great for people who are on a budget and don’t want to spend a small fortune to get their teeth whitened. I’ve even seen some people get this for as little as $11 but that’s only when it's is on sale. The typical price you’ll pay is about $20 + Shipping.

Additional Bleaching Options

There is additional options that you can purchase separately if you feel that their whitening it is not enough. You can also purchase a teeth whitening toothpaste as well as a teeth whitening mouth wash which will work in conjunction with their 2-hour whitening kit which will further improve your smile.

Cons

Don't Expect Extraordinary Results

When it comes to teeth bleaching some people set their expectations too high. Some expect to have a super white smile from using one but the truth of the matter is that everyone’s situation is different. Someone who doesn’t drink coffee or red wine will see a slight increase in results than someone who does. Or someone with a case of fluorosis might not see any results at all. But even if you factor in those things, there is one main reason why I think this product cannot achieve super white teeth and that has to do with the hydrogen peroxide content. I will explain in the section below.

Does Not Disclose Hydrogen Peroxide Info

Now for those of you who are into teeth bleaching you probably already know this but I’ll explain for those who don’t. The heart and soul of a teeth whitening products comes down to the hydrogen peroxide content. When you get your teeth bleaching done at your dentist, just about every single dentist uses hydrogen peroxide to whiten your teeth. As a matter of fact, the only real difference when it comes to whitening your teeth at your dentist and using a high end teeth whitening kit is the fact that your dentist is legally allowed to use a much higher percentage of hydrogen peroxide. The highest percentage that a teeth bleaching products are allowed to use is around 16% (give or take).

The parent company of this product (owned by Johnson & Johnson) does not disclose how much hydrogen peroxide is included. When asked about how much hydrogen peroxide is in their kit their reply was: “We are unable to disclose the percentage of Hydrogen Peroxide as this information is proprietary”. Now as far as their hydrogen peroxide information being “proprietary”, I call BS. Hydrogen peroxide is simply hydrogen peroxide, the only difference between one teeth whitening product that uses hydrogen peroxide vs another teeth whitening product that uses it comes down to one product might have more and another might have less or even the same amount but there is nothing really “proprietary” or different about hydrogen peroxide, all it is H202.

Not to mention you can literally look at the back of any other teeth bleaching products and see how much hydrogen peroxide is included so I don’t see why Johnson & Johnson cannot release that information. I find it really strange that they do not want to disclose this information. In my honest opinion, I don’t think that this product contains very much hydrogen peroxide which might explain why they do not want to disclose this information and why the results are subtle, usually when a product has an adequate amount of hydrogen peroxide, you can expect at least a 6 shade difference.

Need Multiple Applications

Now because (at least in my opinion) there is not very much hydrogen peroxide in this product, you’ll need to use multiple applications to see a significant result but it all comes down to the condition of your teeth.

Hard to Get Gel Out of Tiny Packs

Most teeth whitening kits included hydrogen peroxide syringes which makes using and applying the hydrogen peroxide gel onto the molds pretty easy and simple but with this kit you get these tiny little hydrogen gel packets which can be troublesome to use (according to some people).

Having to Take Constant 10 Minute Breaks

One downside about using products that do not include an adequate amount of hydrogen peroxide is that it takes longer to get results. With most high end kits, you can see results in around 15-30 minutes but Rembrandt’s whitening requires you to use it for 2 hours while taking frequent 10 minutes breaks. This all leads to more work than necessary when compared to other teeth whitening products not to mention most people don’t have 2-hour blocks of time to spend on teeth whitening.

No LED

There are no LED’s included which is a shame because according to studies, LED’s does improve the whitening effect: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3466022/ No Desensitizing Gel Unfortunately, this kit does not come with any desensitizing gel so if you happen to get any hydrogen peroxide on your gums you might feel a little bit of pain. No Container for Mouth Trays Even though this kit does come with reusable mouth trays, they do not include any container for yours to store them.
